AnTostal
AnTostal was originally founded in Ireland in 1953 as a celebration of Irish culture. While the festival mostly ended in Ireland, in 1967 students brought the festival to Notre Dame.
Every spring, SUB hosts a weeklong festival filled with giveaways, activities, food, and fun. Derived from the Irish word for “the festival,” AnTostal celebrates student life and promotes relaxation before finals.
The Shirt Project was originally founded to help provide funding for AnTostal and the Student Union Board. Since then, The Shirt has evolved to a charitable foundation separate from SUB. In 2026, SUB and The Shirt are renewing their partnership by through “AnTostal: Renewing the Vows!” The week of AnTostal events will lead up to The Shirt revela and the Blue Gold Game.
